Summary

A legendary beast. A cursed investigation. An undeniable bond. When Dominique Étienne Chastenet is sent to Gévaudan to investigate a series of murders that many attribute to a beast, he becomes entangled with the reserved Bastien Alain Lafère, a wealthy man who seems to be hiding more than one secret. As ancient magic and a forgotten past come to light, the two men must decide whether to trust each other or become the next victims of the legend.
